Liesbeth graduated in 2017 as a veterinarian from the University of Ghent and immediately embarked on a remarkable career. During her internship at Equitom, her exceptional talent for surgery was quickly recognized by none other than founder and chief surgeon Dr. Tom Mariën. Inspired by his acknowledgment of her potential, Liesbeth decided to fully specialize in this field. In 2018, she was enthusiastically welcomed into Equitom’s surgical team.
Liesbeth’s passion for soft tissue surgery has driven her to continuously advance her skills. At Equitom, she is responsible for dentistry, upper airway surgery (Cornage, Tie Forward, etc.), and tumor treatments. Her expertise attracts patients from both home and abroad to Lummen for complex surgical procedures, in which Liesbeth excels.
As a pioneer in her field, Liesbeth has also developed a groundbreaking surgical technique for treating horses with severe melanomas. Her dedication and expertise have taken her to the farthest corners of the world, where she successfully operates on horses with this complex condition.
In addition, Liesbeth is part of the ECG Dental Care division. At Equitom in Lummen, patients can rely on her for a wide range of dental treatments, from simple check-ups and quality dental care to the most complex dental problems.
Liesbeth is also a sought-after speaker at international conferences, where she shares her extensive knowledge and experience with colleagues worldwide. In 2022, she took the next step in her career by officially beginning her training to become a certified surgeon, further underscoring her unwavering commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine.
